Fountains

A fountain-sculpture, what is it?

In the middle of roundabouts, in front of public buildings or schools, or in public parks we are used to see sculptures. They are an intimate part of classical and contemporary architecture. Massive most of the time, they are part of our daily life.

Mid-2008 while travelling in canton Tessin I discovered the beauty of water. Element sculpting and sanding the stone, element inhabiting the landscape, it is tool and artpiece fragment altogether. This is why I started drawing sculptures in which water is a complement of the material.

Achievements:

Used to work on small or middle-sized bronze pieces at first, I only allowed myself to draw on paper massive sculptures. One of them has seen the day in 2013 thanks to an order. It is installed in the "Home des Glariers", in Sion (Valais).

Invited to participate to a widespread exhibition in summer 2014, EFA2014, I chose to realised a second fountain-sculpture for the occasion. The exhibition took part alongside a torrent stream, in the forest, so such a creation seemed ideal to combine water and earth.
At the moment this artpiece is shown in the sculpture park of Lomazzi Frères at Route des Fournaises in Sion.

There is actually a third piece which has been built by the Lomazzi Frères marble workshop. This is a smaller version. You can also see it in the sculpture park.

Gaïa

"Gaïa" is a fountain-sculpture built on order. In black granit called "black of Sweden" and steel it is located in the "Home des Glairers" in Sion (next to the cathedral). It has been achieved by Pierre Lomazzi and the Lomazzi Frères marble workshop in Sion.

Elegance

"Elegance" is a sculpture-fountain made of stainless steel, which was built during springtime 2014. It was made to be exhibited all summer in Morgins, for the exhibition "Eau Fil de l'Art"
